Conditions of booking

  • 1) Booking

  • Hire charges are payable in advance, a deposit of 25% of the hire charge shall be paid on booking the vessel(s) and the balance not later than 14 days prior to the commencement of the hire period

  • 2) Balance of hire fees

  • In the event of the hirer being unable to take over the vessel(s) booked, every endeavour will be made to re let and if the vessel(s) is/are re let the hirer shall forfeit the deposit to cover the costs of the services entailed in re letting. If the vessel(s) is/are not re let then the hirer shall remain responsible for the payment of the balance of the hire charges.

  • 3) Hirers

  • The Hirer (i.e. the person signing the booking form) must be aged 18 or over.

  • 4) Hire periods

  • All hire periods, except under special circumstances agreed in writing, begin at 4.00pm Saturday and terminate on a Friday at 6.00pm.

  • 5) Vacation of vessel(s) upon return.

  • The vessel(s), except under special circumstances agreed in writing, must be completely vacated by 6.00pm on the Friday on which the hire period terminates. In the event of non-compliance with this condition, the hirer shall be liable to pay the company as liquidated damages the sum of £20 for every hour during which the hirer remains on board the vessel after 6.oopm

  • 6) The steerer

  • The steerer is at all times responsible for and in charge of the vessel(s) and the hirer is responsible for ensuring that passengers carry out the instructions of the steerer for the safe navigation and safety of the vessel(s) and passengers at all times.

  • 7) Insurance

  • Insurance covering the hirer against legal liability in respect of third party claim and claims by passengers in the vessel in excess of £150 is included in the hire charge up to an amount of £5,000,000 in respect of any single accident. The hirer shall be responsible for the first £150 of such claim.

  • 8) Equipment

  • An inventory will be given to the hirer upon joining the vessel(s) and the hirer will be required to check and sign the inventory before taking over the vessel(s). The hirer will be expected to recompense the company for any loss or damage to fixtures, fittings or equipment caused by his/her party up to the sum of £150

  • 9) Cleanliness of the vessel(s)

  • Bookings are accepted subject to the vessel(s) being available during the hire period, as there is always the possibility of the vessel being necessarily off service for unforeseen repairs or overhaul, or as a consequence of accidental damage. In any case where the company are unable to fulfil a booking or provide an alternative vessel, their liability shall be limited to the return of the sum paid by the hirer under condition 1). The company shall also be under no liability for any loss, damage, or delay that may be caused to the hirer in consequence of navigational obstructions, floods, and shortage of water, on any other impediments to navigation howsoever arising.

  • 10) Breakdown of vessel(s)

  • Whilst the company will endeavour to render assistance as soon as circumstances permit in the event of any mechanical failure or breakdown of the vessel(s), they shall not be liable for any such failure or breakdown, or for any loss, damage or delay sustained by the hirer in consequence thereof.

  • 11) Hirer's property.

  • The company cannot accept responsibility or any liability for loss or damage to hirer's or passengers luggage, baggage or possessions either on or off the vessel(s) at any time.
